Welcome to the Ville Marie MRI Center. At the Ville Marie MRI Center we offer patients rapid access, usually next day service, to a wide array of MRI exams. Our Siemens Magnetom Espree Open Bore magnet is ideal for claustrophobic patients. The Ville Marie MRI Center is conveniently located on the ninth floor in a uniquely sunlit environment with two large windows providing an open airy feel and view onto the city.

Our environment coupled with the open bore magnet allows all patients, even claustrophobic ones to complete their exam with comfort and ease. At the Ville Marie MRI Center we offer a wide range of exams including musculoskeletal, spine, brain, abdominal/pelvic as well as breast imaging. We specialize in all types of MRI studies and take pride in the unparalleled breast MRI imaging services offered. We pride ourselves on all our imaging techniques, including breast imaging, as well as the quality of our scans.In addition to offering a wide range of MRI exams, should you need any other form of imaging or service you may also benefit from same day access to our team of physicians who have quick on-site access to all other pertinent imaging technology, including: Nuclear medicine and PET-CT scanning, and are able to perform an ultrasound, stereotaxic/digital mammography or an MRI-guided breast biopsy. The Ville Marie Breast Pathology Service now offers immediate expert preliminary breast biopsy results, with the final report available within 48 hours.

The Ville Marie MRI Center’s downtown Montreal location allows for easy access from all over the city as well as those who come in from farther away. Local lodging arrangements can be made upon request.

Breast MRI

Breast MRI is the most accurate imaging exam in the early detection and treatment of breast cancer. Many women can benefit from a Breast MRI, including those who:
• Have a family history of breast cancer
• Have undergone previous breast surgery
• Have dense breast tissue who cannot get accurate screenings with other imaging technology
• Are at a high risk for breast cancer
• Are at high risk of breast cancer but who have negative mammogram and/or ultrasound results
Breast MRI has proved itself as an effective screening tool for breast cancer in high risk patients. Countless studies have been done proving the accuracy and sensitivity of the technique for over a decade.

As Canada’s first breast-dedicated MRI Center, we are the first Canadian site to combine the latest MRI technology and the Sentinelle breast coil to produce the highest quality imaging and breast biopsy capability. We are the first site to link the Siemens Magnetom Espree magnet to the new Sentinelle Vanguard breast specific table. This unique partnership produces extremely precise images that enhance even the smallest abnormalities in turn helping the experts to distinguish benign from malignant signals.

We are designated as a Breast MRI Center of Excellence for image production, research, staff training and testing.
